2 of 8 (Tracey's camera)

HAPPY 4th of July 2008

Hi Ry! I take a photo of the kids every year in the same chair. I started Jared's first year at the beach. It's neat to watch them grow.Smile Kevy...this is his year with missing front teeth!
Next year may be his last picture in the chair.
I said when their feet hit the ground I would stop.
What a great couch picture.
I take this shot every year too, ever since Kevin came around.
I let the kids get creative...see what happens??

Smile!

Heather and Tracey Lynn. You ever see the movie Beaches? Well, that's us, just not as sad a story...not too many people can be in your life since you were 4 years old. Now she's all growed up and married and everything. It's fun to live with someone a month a year...lots of stories!

Ryan & Benjamin going on their "date" to putt-putt
Jungle golf or Pirate golf, tough question. There was going to be a follow up date since he sacrificed and went to the animal one, but the weather didn't cooperate before the Parker family left. Back in our day there was only one choice!
What a gentleman, he let her go first!
Cute monkeys...all three of them!
Thanks Benjamin!!!
Ryan had a blast, a new yearly tradition has been set!

Grammy, Jared and Ryan take a swim while the others go fishing in the back bay.
Kevin the fisher-boy. We don't usually catch much. We just enjoy the process. When they get tired of going for fish they always bring in some crabs to play with. Ask Kevin about the one that pinched his toes...
Jared, smile!...I said smile, not squint!Hey BuBuRyan can hear the shutter open on the camera from a mile away!

Fishin' Huck Finn style.

Cute shot, maybe our Christmas card for 2008

I love this shot, it makes me smile that they are all water bugs!

Miss Priss has to arrange her towel "just so" before she has a seat.
READY!?!?!

SET!?!?!?!
GO!
These are my favorites of the trip this year. I really don't know how she was able to find me with the camera, and smile, and not belly flop on the landing! We were laughing so hard when I took these photos. It was a great day at the condo!

Pics 6 of 8 (Rick's Camera)

These are the (mostly) wonderful pics from my brother's camera. Obviously the kids got a hold of it at some point and decided to show off Kevin's serious side!
Apparently Kevin thought this was normal behavior for the camera for some reason.
Ok, it was my turn to steal the camera from Rick.
Happy 4th of July bugs!
The Shell Factory.
The land of waltzing waters, mermaids, and trinkets made from pooka shells. It is so infamous that there is a song about it...click here to hear the song...click here for a trip down memory lane. This year we decided to do bumper boats. Funny how Rick had his phone and camera in his pocket so we couldn't squirt him with water. I was beyond soaked. It took a month for my under garments to fully dry.

Beautiful shot of downtown Ft. Myers off of 41. Who knew HWY 41 could be so pretty? We got a bum deal. Our section of 41 is all car dealerships!
This is our bridge to get to Estero Island. We are really close to the end in the smallest building on the beach. Hard to believe that decades ago we were the only building at the end of the island. How times, and building codes, have changed!
View of our island from the front window. This is the BEST view in the entire world. Open the window and smell the sharp fragrance of the hibiscus and the hot salty air...ummm.
I stole the camera again...I loved this shot when we were out walking with the kiddos.
We went down to the pier for some ice cream. Ryan was on her date so it was me and "the boys". There was a beautiful storm coming in with lightning and rainbows to one side and the sunset on the other. It was a great night!!
Here's the rainbow on the back side of the storm.
Stom clouds make for some killer photo ops!
This is one of the BEST!

Pics 7 of 8 (Dad's camera)

So my cousin lives in Estero with his wife and little boy. They just moved back from the East coast of Florida a couple months ago. Dan doesn't have a truck with a hitch (we can fix that!) so we let him use the swamp monster to put his boat in. A slight detour found the boys in fishing waters (big surprise!) and they had a great time.

One night we decided to take a walk down to the pier and eat dinner. My dad took his camera (no surprise)...he also took over 90 pictures (also not a big surprise). Here are some of my favorites...most of his pictures were "shot from the hip" which makes for interesting editing. Bunches of the pictures were trying to get the perfect one for my mother's day frame.Ryan with her MP-3
Jared lookin' for critters
Kevy found a jelly fish
This picture was the best one for my frame. It was a great night and the food was awesome too. What a great reminder for the year!
I LOVE THIS SHOT!! Look at Kevin's face...it doesn't get better then this!
What a great vacation!! As always-- it was over all too soon...

Where have the Homer's Been??

Hi everyone, we have been at the beach for the last 4 weeks. We just got home yesterday and the great news is that I have lots of photos to post, the terrible news is that the computer died while we were on vacation so I will get them up as soon as I can. First day of school is coming up too so keep watching the site for that. OH--great news--Right before we left for vacation Ryan tried out for, and made, the Chattahoochee Gold Swim team at the bronze level. So now we now have two year round swimmers in the house! I will be living at the pool. Kevin just needs to make up his mind with what he wants to do...I hope I have enough time in my day to get everywhere!
