Christmas Day 2006

The kids had a wonderful Christmas and to my knowledge, they received all their heart's desire. After all of the programs, pageants and church services it was nice to relax a bit...until the stomach bug hit! We hung out on Day Lily Way, had a cousin's reunion at Auntie Carolyn and Uncle Sherman's (minus the sickos), went to the Puppetry Arts (thanks uncle Ricky!) and to Lake Hartwell (Lars missed New Year's due to the flu). Ask Rob about the Leon's Chili sometime...don't ask Tracey how to boil water...:)

Visions of Sugarplums

I loved this picture, it captured the spirit of the season for me!

Christmas Cookies

We make cookies every year. This year they actually did most of the work themselves, I still had most of the clean up...

Halloween 2006

We had an awesome time trick-or-treating this year. It was the first time that we didn't have to use a wagon to drag tired ghouls home from trudging through the neighborhood. The kids had a blast helping decorate the outside of the house. I usually do it when they are in school so that it looks like the house has been "transformed" while they were gone. We also spent an afternoon at a corn maze in north Georgia. We will definitely do that again next year. Ryan loved the pony rides and the boys liked the bounce house. I liked the hayride, one of the best we've ever done.

Chalker Fall Festival

We went to the boys school for the Fall fest. Guess what color hair Ryan wanted??? The boys look so forward to this every year. They have games, food, bounce houses, a cake walk and a silent auction. It's really well done and it raises a lot of money for the school.

Bibbity Bobbity Boutique

Ok, If you have a little girl, this is THE place to go. Ryan is already talking about going back here when her hair gets longer. Since the poor thing broke her arm, we thought it would be fair for her to have a "spa" day at Disney. The price is reasonable if you take your own dress (from the dress up box at home). I had to make the reservation months in advace, but it was SO worth it. Since her hair was so short, they didn't have too many options but they did a fantastic job making her feel

special and she chose the pink hair (of course)...I wanted the "Princess" style, it looked kind of like Cinderella, maybe when we go in 2008...She did have a blast and the boys weren't too miserable. They did have the option to go next door to the LegoLand store, but they opted to hang with Ryan...how sweet!

Epcot 2007

So we spent a day and a half at Epcot. Each day we drove the kids like mules, and some of the pictures reflect that. Do we seem a tad sleepy? We were! But not a complaint all week and the kids had a blast. I really think that this was the boy's favorite spot. Mom and I liked Norway (I like the ride, mom liked the shopping). Ryan was just happy to be showing off her beautiful new hairdoo to all the folks in line. No Princesses here so she just became the Princess.

Sea World

This is one of my favorite parks. Did you know that I wanted to be a marine biologist when I was in middle school? Yeah, until I realized my intense fear of the ocean! For Sea World day we met up with my Uncle Paul, Aunt Marcia and my cousin Kristy. There were troubles with the rides breaking down and it was HOT but I still love this park. The Shamu show is something spectacular and the touch tanks are SO cool. Jared loved the penguin house, Kevin loved the sharks and Ryan loved the dolphins & sting rays. There was also a really cool kiddie area with a small roller coaster and a HUGE playplace. That was great at the end of the day after all the heat.

Homer-Harvey Disney Trip 2007

We went down to see the Mouse with six kids, four parents and three grandparents. The trip was bittersweet since Ty was getting very sick, but the kids really seemed to get caught up in the magic. Ryan had broken her arm on Labor Day, so instead of an autograph book she used her hot pink cast. The boys used their baseball caps. Gran's favorite ride was the Buzz Lightyear, I think she'd ride that 80 times in a row! Ryan loved meeting all the Princesses, of course! I loved walking down Mainstreet with my children. The boys spent two days riding on Space Mountain, so my guess is that they loved that ride the most.

Ft Myers Beach 06

What a wonderful year. We had a blast on the beach and in the pool, we also had a chance to go to the Immaginarium and to putt-putt. Almost nightly we walked down the beach either to the point to shell or to the pier to get ice cream, watch the dolphins play and to play on the playground. Honestly there wasn't much that we didn't get to do. The kids said it was the "best summer ever!"

Playa Hermosa

Rob and I decided to get away for my 30th birthday and for our 10th anniversary. We pretty much threw a dart at the map and landed in Costa Rica. Actually, Rob had a friend who had been there and loved it. We liked it so much we bought a place down there and we're going back for Thanksgiving 2008 with our parents, Rick and the kiddos. We had a blast going swimming, shopping, snorkeling and deep sea fishing. We were on a boat in the Pacific on a Sunday with a man named Moses...how cool was that? We saw whales, sailfish and tuna...lots of tuna. We hooked into a few and Rob even brought in a rooster fish, never saw one of those before!
