Trick or Treat!

We had a great time trick or treating this year. Jared went the entire time with the mask on his face, with NO complaints!! Ryan thought she was tough stuff hanging out with the big kids (Katie and Brooke) from the bus stop. Kevin was a hoot with his nun chucks and his Ninja outfit...especially when he kept smiling for the pictures! Jared did lose his patience for someone who thought he was a "cyclops", not an "eye clops"...is there a difference?!!? Seems like we had less kids come to the door this year--maybe because this year was the first year that our subdivision did a haunted house. They charged $1.00 and all the proceeds went to St. Jude's Children's hospital. We went last night and it was AWESOME! Ryan wasn't even scared one bit, she LOVED it. I did find out tonight that the "ghosts" and "ghouls" that work the haunted house yell out "move it along" when there are small kids in the group so that the bogey man doesn't jump out and scare the little ones. I wonder how cool it was for the "big" kids...

Pumpkin Fun

So Halloween is here and it's time to carve the pumpkins. We wanted originals this year so no stencils were used. That made a unique challenge for mommy...Kevin had picked a gourd that looked like a snake, we really had some creative fun with that one! Kevin insisted on using a glove to get the goop out. Afterwards we toasted the seeds and made pumpkin bread. NO, I have NOT started cooking, I just volunteered to bring stuff in for Kevin's class, Mrs. Schmitter must not know me very well if she was counting on me to bring the food...hahaha

Jared wanted Patrick from Sponge Bob,not too bad but the mouth fell off. Oh well! Kevin's creation could probably be seen from space. Since he didn't get to pick a face for his "pumpkin" we let him choose a face for the big one, and he did an excellent job drawing that one on. Ryan wanted a ghosty and she did a good job drawing hers too!

Happy Birthday Rob!

We had a very busy weekend for Rob's birthday. In the morning the ladies went to see High School Musical on Ice with Mikayla, Kiersten, Katie, Jennie and Karen (pics to follow) While we did that, the boys went to Chalker for the Fall Festival. They were joined by Gran, Grandfather and Grammy. We all met up later at the school so the girls could have some fair fun too...Afterwards we dropped the kiddos off at Grammy and Pop Pop's so we could go to dinner and a show. We went to PF Changs for dinner, Whole World Comedy Club for the show and went dancing at CosmoLava downtown to top off the night. Sunday we had a nice family dinner and the kids wanted a cookie cake for Daddy's birthday...good for me since that meant no cooking!

High School Musical On Ice

Wow! We had a great time at the show. The girls were all mesmerized! I was laughing the entire time just watching the faces on the girls. Kiersten knows every word to every song for both movies and she just sat there with her mouth hanging open. Ryan finally broke out of the trance long enough to dance a little in her seat during the finale. I haven't laughed that hard in a really long time...what an awesome day!

Pumpkin Patch 2007

Happy Fall Ya'll! We went to get our pumpkins today and decided to try a new place. We went to a Corn Maze last year and loved it. This year we decided to try Cagle Dairy in North Georgia. We got there and the boys decided to jump on the bouncy pillow. Never seen anything like it, it was a bounce house with out walls. We each took a shot with the "Corn Cannon" and then we hit the maize. We made it through in one piece and Jared and I decided to try the second one (much harder) while Rob and the other two went to sit in the shade. After we emerged a half hour later (we only had to cheat once...) we took a tour of the dairy store. No hayride included, boo...and the pumpkins were really expensive...hiss. So we decided to go back to St. Andrews and get our pumpkins from there. We found two nice sized ones for Jared and Ryan and a snake shaped gourd for Kevy plus a HUGE pumpkin for Rob and I (lots of seeds...yay!), all cheaper then at the other place. Plus the money went to the youth group at the church. Great deal, no wonder they call the school I work at "The Pumpkin Church". Actually it's where Rob and I bought "our" first pumpkin many moons ago...enjoy the pics, hard to believe the holidays are here!

Going for Gold

We are so excited!! Tonight the swimming coach came up to Jennie and I and invited Jared, Spencer AND Mikayla to join the Gold Swim Team. Currently they are swimming for the Gold League, but now they will be eligible to compete. Coach K said that they are all doing exceptionally well and they were invited to join the SILVER level (on a Bronze, Silver, Gold scale). They have been going to swim on Tuesdays and Fridays with the little girls going on Wednesdays. The new schedule is Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. We get to pick three of the four to attend. Our schedule will now be a lot easier since we were already there on Wednesdays. The kids didn't quite get why we were so excited, but they were very happy that they will be "on the same team" since they swim on different teams for summer swim team (neighborhood swimming). We were also relieved beyond belief that all three were asked together since three can be a very tricky number...no one was left out!!

Girl Time

So Ryan and I came home from School (I work up at St.Andrews 2-3 days a week) and decided to make some lunch. Afterwards, I was doing the dishes and she got my attention by putting my sunglasses on. She looked so cute and I know she's getting too big, too fast. I love these days that we can come home and eat together before "the brothers" get home from the bus. It will be nice to have more time next year when she's in school, but I'm going to miss little girly moments like these...
