KieKie and RyRy swimming 20 ft Butterfly

The girls are side by side, Kiersten is on the left and Ryan is on the right. So cool! It's hard to believe they have come so far, it seems like yesterday that I was holding KieKie in the hospital and now they are registering for kindergarten this week! I asked Ryan if she was ready for swim team in the summer and she squealed. Then I asked her if she wanted to do swimming or ballet next year and she said emphatically, "SWIMMING, everyday"! I guess coach Karen needs to order that recliner for me if I'm going to be there for another set of practices. We'll see how she feels after a summer of swimming, she'll either be ready for more or ready to take a break..... stay tuned.

Ryan's Mini Meet

Ryan and Kie Kie in their one, and only, meet together

getting psyched up

Bubby was a great towel boy

Her participation medal

Today we went to Ryan's mini meet at the pool. She has been waiting for swim team to start--ever so impatiently--and this was good practice for her. She swam in three events: 1/2 lap back stroke, the 1/2 lap freestyle and the 20 ft butterfly. She came in first in all her events and Kiersten came in second. It will be great to see what these two mermaids can do with the summer team! Ryan looked at me after the first event and said, "can I do it again?"...she wanted to be in more then three events, maybe we have another swimmer on our hands...maybe she'll motivate Jared to swim faster--maybe.

HAPPY EASTER!

Hope Everyone has a safe and blessed Easter
He is Risen!

We woke up this morning to the house alarm going off, the children thought that their baskets may be hidden in the garage...on the other side of the security alarm. What a wonderful way to get out of bed! Kevin found his basket first, then Jared found Ryan's and the boys worked together to find Jared's. We went to 9:30 church and now we are off to Bob and Barb's for an afternoon of egg hunting, ham dinner and maybe a nap...yeah right!

Egg Decorating on Easter Eve. The kids had these cool tattoo stickers that made the critters look like they were hatching out of the egg, really nifty. I tried to get close ups but I don't think they do it justice. We had a blast and I had beautiful green fingers for church this morning. Oh well, I'm sure I wasn't the only one. Next year I'll wear gloves for this project!

Relay Silent Auction

So today marks 50 days until Relay for Life 2008. I know many of you have supported me in the past and I thank you so much for that support! I would like to personally invite you to the Silent Auction next Thursday, March 27 from 6 to 8 pm. The auction will be held at Roswell Street Baptist Church (774 Roswell Street in Marietta) in the Vision Center. We have a wonderful assortment of auction items from Air Tran, Stone Mountain, Woodmont Golf Club, the Atlanta Symphony, Boutier Winery, the Whitlock Inn, Tennessee Aquarium, and more. We hope you'll attend and spread the word to your friends and family, including those who are not already a part of Relay. The tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Please let me know if you would like to attend and I can get your tickets to you or have them waiting at check in the night of.

If you cannot come to the auction but you would still like to support the Homers, the Hellands or Rick Kruse, you may click her to visit our Friends for LIFE website and pick on your favorite family member. We have a matching donor, dollar for dollar so your donation goes even farther. If you care to make a sustaining gift (monthly drafts from an account) rather then a one time gift, that option is now available as well on the donations page.

Thank you so much, I couldn't do this without the help and support of my family!

Easter House

So after spending all morning in the basement from the tornadoes, we decided to have a little fun. I had bought an Easter Cottage gingerbread house. We thought it would be fun to do...it was! It tasted really yummy too!
